Gaia Vince | Nomad Century – Online
Sat 6 May - Mon 29 May 2023

Recorded at Spring Festival 2023
‘Migration is not the problem, it is the solution.’
Gaia Vince’s groundbreaking work Adventures in the Anthropocene, for which she spent several years travelling to over 50 countries, mapped the ways humans are changing the planet. She draws from this and other first-hand experience of the state of the planet in her new book Nomad Century.
By 2070, a zone of uninhabitability could cover one-fifth of the planet. In Europe alone, the number of people exposed to coastal flooding is projected to rise to 3.6 million in our lifetimes, with the North Sea and Atlantic Coasts of the UK and Ireland among the worst hit. Two-thirds of Cardiff will be underwater. Hundreds of millions of people will need to move in the next 20–30 years.
Hear Gaia introduce her manifesto for how we prepare globally and positively in order to survive and thrive in the places we call home.
