Black History Month 2025 – Standing Firm in Power and Pride

Gary Younge

This year’s theme for Black History Month is “Standing Firm in Power and Pride,” in honour of Black individuals whose resilience, strength, and courage to keep on going despite the odds, have shaped our world today.

Black history is not separate from World or British history; it is part of the story of our accomplishments, struggle, and future together.

Here, you can view past events in keeping with this theme, providing historical retrospectives as well as thought-provoking perspectives on the modern black experience.
