Author Biography
Laura Kuenssberg is BBC Newsnight’s chief correspondent and a regular presenter of the programme. She spent seven years based in Westminster, reporting for a wide range of BBC programmes including the 10 O’Clock News, Today and Newsnight, ultimately working as Chief Political Correspondent for the BBC News Channel during the 2010 General Election. Despite an extremely good relationship with the Downing Street police officers, in 2011 she left her spot outside Number 10 and moved to ITV where she became Business Editor. There she broke stories on a wide range of subjects, mainly involving the often less-than-exemplary behaviour of banks, tax avoiders, and energy companies. She also reported extensively on the role of British brands in Bangladesh in the wake of the Rana Plaza disaster, and recently presented a major undercover investigation into that country’s garment trade for ITV.
Laura has lived and worked in France, and in the United States, satisfying her serious election geek tendencies by covering two White House races. Before joining the BBC in 2000, Laura worked in local radio and TV and studied at Edinburgh and Georgetown Universities.

Sian Kevill has had a prestigious career as a topflight journalist, editor and programme maker at the BBC where she was Editor of BBC2’s award winning late night current affairs show, Newsnight; before running BBC World News, the BBC’s international news channel. Founder Director of Make Waves, an independent production company specialising in investigative films and international content which has worked with BBC, C4, C5, HBO, A&E, Bloomberg, Channel News Asia, Al Jazeera. During her career, Sian has overseen programmes and documentaries that have won awards from BAFTA, RTS, Monte Carlo, IDFA, ATA as well as a personal award from WITF for her services to UK current affairs
