We’re excited to welcome one of the most prominent feminist and cultural critics of recent times, Jacqueline Rose, as she presents her compelling book, The Plague. Rose’s sharp collection of essays imagines a world in which a respect for death might exist alongside a fairer distribution of wealth. She’ll be speaking to fellow author, Marina Benjamin, whose recent book A Little Give considers the everyday labour and emotional load of women’s work. Join them for a fascinating exploration of work in the contemporary world.

Author biography
Jacqueline Rose is the author of numerous books about psychoanalysis, literature and culture, feminism, and the Middle East. She is the cofounder of Independent Jewish Voices, launched in the UK in 2007 and a fellow of the British Academy. Rose is a frequent contributor to the London Review of Books, the New York Review of Books, and the Guardian, among many other publications.
Chair Biography
Marina Benjamin’s most recent books are Insomnia, The Middlepause, Rocket Dreams, shortlisted for the Eugene Emme Award, and Last Days in Babylon, longlisted for the Wingate Prize. Her writing has appeared in Granta, The Guardian, The New York Times, New Philosopher, and the digital magazines Literary Hub and Aeon, where she is a senior editor. She lives in London.
